Died in Londres on 31st january 1606

Foi um soldado inglês católico que participou da Conspiração da Pólvora. O objetivo era assassinar o rei protestante Jaime I e todos os membros do parlamento inglês, responsáveis pela repressão aos direitos políticos dos católicos por causa de suas atividades contra a coroa.

Fawkes era o responsável por guardar os barris de pólvora que seriam utilizados para explodir o parlamento do Reino Unido. Os conspiradores, porém, não desejavam a morte de inocentes e católicos, portanto enviaram avisos para que eles mantivessem distância do parlamento no dia do ataque. Um dos avisos chegou aos ouvidos do rei, o qual ordenou uma revista no parlamento e encontrou Fawkes guardando a pólvora.

O soldado foi torturado e enforcado por traição e tentativa de assassinato. A sua captura é comemorada até hoje no dia 5 de novembro, a tradicional Noite das Fogueiras. Fawkes é comumente visto como alguém que lutou e morreu por aquilo que acreditava e, por isso, sua máscara é utilizada até os dias atuais como símbolo de luta pela liberdade.

Dear Owen, Haatchi and family,

We are the 8^th grade students of a Catholic School in Portugal. We are Portuguese. We are about 13 years old and we are writing this letter in an English lesson. Yesterday, we watched a report on your story on TV and it moved us. Marta, one of the students, asked the teacher to write to you. And here we are!

Portugal is a beautiful country. Oporto is in the north, by the river Douro. It has been considered for the third time the best European city to visit because it has wonderful monuments and views. Do you like football? Perhaps you’ve heard about FCP, the best football team in Portugal. Do you know Cristiano Ronaldo? He is Portuguese just like us! Have you ever been to Porto?

Owen you are an example for many people. We can see that you are special. You inspire people! Keep on being brave and living life because it is a marvelous gift. Besides you and Haatchi there are many people in the world who need to feel the way you do to overcome difficulties. “Thanks God” you found Haatchi and you have a real FRIEND to help you. It is really cruel what some people do to animals.

A dream I would like to accomplish when I grow up is to save enough money to go and travel around the world in order to help people in need. At the same time I would also visit all the monuments and beautiful places I could.

In the future I want to be a pediatrician.

I want help to babies and kids, because I love children and I don't like to see them suffering.

To achieve my gold I must study hard and do lots of sacrifice.

In the beginning, I will work in a hospital to get some experience and then I want to open my own clinic specialized in children problems.

I know it won´t be easy, but I believe I will reach my goal and fulfill my dream.

A Bed of Clouds

I sleep in the clouds, dream in the sky,
I'll keep dreaming as life passes me by,
I think my dreams keep me sane,
I dream of happiness, a life without pain,
some people say I'm stuck in this place,
and I'll never go anywhere,
but in my dreams I've already been there,
I know some day I'll have to wake up,
but I feel the real world is more like a nightmare,
I'm safe in my closed eye wonderland,
this poem goes to all the dreamers that understand,
no matter what they say...
keep your dreams but don't dream your life away,

DREAMing

I have a dream...
I Dream to be able to help the communities in the interior of Africa.
I know that there are many people, mainly children suffering, because they don’t have water.
My dream is to gather enough money from companies, governors and citizens of the world, to open up holes for water for these people.
This way, these populations would have water to drink, cook, and also for agriculture, decreasing diseases and hunger, at least for some people in Africa.

My dream is to become a football coach.

I would like to be Benfica`s manager and have a good team.

I want to be a good manager to earn a lot of money. With the money I would buy expensive cars, a big house and brand clothes, but I wouldn't forget the poorest and I would definitely give money for charity. Nowadays I am a football player but I dream to be a coach in the future.

I had a dream, in this dream I was a famous basketball player, scoring, passing, I did everything. I played in a very famous team with great players, fantastic players, players who became a family. Besides this we also won all there was to win. In this dream I was considered the best player of the league. In this dream I had the chance to meet very important players in the history of basketball. It was very important because these players gave me important advices.
This was a fantastic dream.

My dream is to build the largest passengers plane.

I want to be remembered by the aeronautical engineering as the best ever.
